「アニメ化おめでとう2」/「りん」Basically, I’m in love with the contrast between the three of them. I love how this image chooses to showcase this with Natsume in the front in white, Natori in the middle in brown, and Matoba in the back in black. I’m also digging how this image reminds us how all three of them are a bit… off. Matoba’s cursed covered eye, Natori’s bizarre tattoo thing, and pretty much all of Natsume’s features. The anime manages to make Natsume appear a lot more normal, which consequently makes him look more warm and approachable. In the manga he’s the most bizarre looking of them all making it easy to understand why youkai are easily tricked into thinking he’s one of them (remember that one time all he did was put on a flimsy face-covering?). I always end up wondering if he has some youkai blood in him from somewhere in his family tree. Something related I can’t help but wonder: who is Natsume’s grandfather? It’s telling that Reiko passed on her last name and not her husband’s… if she ever even married.
